Bella Ramsey Says ‘The Last Of Us’ Season 2 Is “Likely” – Deadline

Bella Ramsey stars in HBOs The last of us and the Game of Thrones alum teases that a second season is very “likely”.

“If people keep watching, I think [a second series] is quite likely. It’s up to the guys at HBO,” Ramsey said BBC in an interview. “Nothing has been confirmed yet, so we’ll have to wait and see.”

The last of us is based on a PlayStation video game and in its debut season on the premium cable network scored the second biggest premiere after House of the Dragon ever since Empire’s Promenade launch in 2010.

Ramsey stars as Ellie and is joined by Pedro Pascal, Gabriel Luna, Anna Torv, Nico Parker, Murray Bartlett and Nick Offerman, as well as Melanie Lynskey, Storm Reid, Merle Dandridge, Jeffrey Pierce, Lamar Johnson, Keivonn Woodard, Graham Greene, Elaine Miles , Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker.

The last of us takes place 20 years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel (Pascal), a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job quickly turns into a brutal journey as they both have to cross the US and depend on each other to survive.

Series creators Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann have already teased that they only focus on adapting the video games. If so, the Naughty Dog game has a sequel that came out in 2020 that would serve as the inspiration for a second season of the HBO drama.
