GURUGRAM: A resident of Sector 79 has reportedly been cheated out of Rs 12.4 lakh by cyber fraudsters who offered her a part-time job.
“On December 21, a woman contacted me via WhatsApp. She told me that if I joined her website, invested some money and helped her increase the sales volume by making transactions to the accounts of the website, I would get a commission of about 20%-40% on each transaction,” the complainant told police.
The woman made several transactions as directed, but she was unable to withdraw her money nor the commissions promised to her. She approached the police on Tuesday, after which an FIR was filed under IPC sections 419 (person fraud) and 420 (fraud) at the Manesar cyber police station.
