As soon as Tamil actress Nayanthara and her husband Vignesh Shivan announced their twin children via surrogacy, they almost immediately came under the scanner of the Tamil Nadu government, which suspected surrogacy laws were being violated.
The couple recently became parents to twin babies and they made an official announcement about their parenthood on October 9. A four-member panel was assembled to examine the surrogacy process and now sources say the hospital has indeed broken the standards.
According to sources, the panel found the administration guilty of violating surrogacy rules after asking private hospital doctors for explanations. The report for this has not yet been made public and the health minister of Tamil Nadu, MA Subramanian, has said the investigative report will be released later on Wednesday, October 26.
Subramanian, who met media outlets at Kilpakkam Government Hospital in Chennai on Tuesday, said the inquiry’s report would be made public on Wednesday. The hospital administration may also take legal action because their justifications were deemed unsatisfactory, the health minister said. Actress Nayanthara and her husband Vignesh Shivan were previously the subject of a government suo moto investigation to see if proper legal process was followed in their decision to use a surrogate.
Meanwhile, Nayanthara and Vignesh are overjoyed after the birth of their twins and they recently posted a Diwali photo showing their newborns and wishing fans a happy Diwali.
“I wish you all, dear ones, only happiness and peace in the midst of all the obstacles that life holds against you. Pray hard, love hard! Love is all we can have for everyone. Love is all that will make this life beautiful and prosperous,” they wrote in the caption.
