Poochi Murugan, vice president of the South Indian Artistes Association, visited Manobala in hospital and inquired about his well-being. Manopala seems to have talked to him excitedly and shows no signs of undergoing any treatment. Today he comes home from the hospital.
Manobala, who started out as an assistant to the legendary filmmaker Bharathirajaa, became the director of the 1982 film Agaya Gangai. He has directed hit films such as Pillai Nila, Oorkavalan (starring superstar Rajinikanth) and Mallu Vetti Minor. He became an in-demand comedic actor in the early 2000s thanks to his wiry stature and unique dialogue. He has been a part of memorable comic numbers in films like Pithamagan, Ice, Chandramukhi, Yaaradi Nee Mohini, Thamizh Padam, Alex Pandian, the Aranmanai franchise and Aambala.
