AAP demands Manoj Tiwari’s arrest; Worried only about security, says BJP leader

In front of his “public threat” to assassinate Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, his deputy Manish Sisodia on Friday called for the arrest of BJP leader Manoj Tiwari and demanded an investigation into the matter.

“His language shows the conspiracy being hatched to kill Arvind Kejriwal. We also demand that Manoj Tiwari be arrested for this threat,” Sisodia said.

Sisodia addressed a press in Delhi and said that a complaint will be lodged with the Election Commission and an FIR will be registered on the matter. Sisodia hinted at the full BJP conspiracy behind it as the party was threatened by AAP for the upcoming municipal elections.

Manoj Tiwari responded to this allegation saying that he has only expressed concern for the Prime Minister’s safety. “I am concerned about Arvind Kejriwal’s safety. Sisodia reads an old BJP script plotting to kill Kejriwal,” he said.

“Kejriwal claims that Sisodia will be arrested, while Sisodia prophesies Kejriwal’s assassination. I don’t know what’s going on,” he added.

AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj said he will meet Delhi state election commissioner Vijay Dev at 12:30 today and ask for action. “After this, we are going to file a complaint with the Delhi Police and hope that an FIR will be filed,” he added.

Bhardwaj claimed that BJP is trying to harm AAP and that there have been previous attempts on Kejriwal’s life. He was referring to the security breach of Kejriwal’s home on March 31 this year. “The security ring has been penetrated and CM has been attacked. The truth has never come out about who or why he was targeted,” he said.

This is because Sisodia on Thursday accused the BJP of hatching a conspiracy to assassinate Kejriwal, fearing defeat in Gujarat and the MCD, and Delhi MP Manoj Tiwari’s alleged involvement in it. However, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is not afraid of such petty politics, he said.

His comments were in response to Tiwari’s tweets earlier in the day in which he had expressed concern for Kejriwal’s safety while highlighting recent allegations of corruption and “ticket selling” to the MCD polls.

“I am concerned about the safety of Arvind Kejriwal because people and AAP volunteers are angry about the ongoing corruption, ticket sales (for the MCD polls), friendship with rapists and massage in prison incidents. Their MLAs have also been thrashed. It should not happen to the chief minister of Delhi…,” the Northeast Delhi MP said in a tweet in Hindi.

According to MOT sources, the lieutenant governor of Delhi, VK Saxena, has instructed the police commissioner of the city to take cognizance of the allegations.
