Amid the power struggle between Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and his former deputy Sachin Pilot, Congressman Rahul Gandhi said on Monday that both leaders are assets to the party.
Speaking at a press conference near Indore, Gandhi, the Lok Sabha member from Wayanad in Kerala, also said that the decision to fight again from Amethi would be taken after a year and a half or a year and a half.
“Right now my focus is on the Bharat Jodo Yatra,” he said.
Union Minister Smriti Irani had defeated Rahul Gandhi in his family’s bastion Amethi in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
When asked about different statements made by Rajasthan leaders Gehlot and Pilot during their power struggle, he said, “It has no bearing on the yatra and both leaders are credits to the Congress Party.” Amethi, given the chance, said Gandhi, “I don’t want to give headlines as my focus is currently on the Bharat Jodo Yatra.” “The answer to your question on the matter will come in a year or a year and a half,” he said.
When asked about plans to solve the country’s unemployment problem, Gandhi said the biggest problem right now is that the entire wealth of the country is in the hands of three to four industrialists.
The Congress will focus on creating small-scale enterprises to create more job opportunities in the country, he said.
Gandhi also said his ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra, a mass contact initiative, raised the voice of the nation.
