The clash happened during YS Sharmila’s “padyatra” in Warangal district, after which she took to Twitter claiming that the TRS “intended to arrest her”.
A clash broke out on Monday between supporters of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s sister, YS Sharmila, the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, and workers of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS). Soon after, YSRTP leader YS Sharmila was arrested by Telangana Police. She took to Twitter and questioned the saying. “Is it a democracy or a Taliban kingdom?” The clash happened during YS Sharmila’s “Praja Prasthanam padyatra” in Warangal district.
“The TRS government intends to arrest me who is fighting for the people. TRS incites crooks by using the police as workers,” she tweeted. She also claimed that buses had been set on fire in the clash, even though she had requested permission for the procession.

“Is this a democracy or Taliban?” she continued on Twitter. Sharmila, who had launched the YSR Telangana Party (YSRTP), has been on a ‘padyatra’. She has covered 3,500 km so far. She was in Narsampet yesterday, criticizing local TRS MLA Peddi Sudarshan Reddy.
YS Sharmila will be taken to Hyderabad from Warangal and will hold a press conference at 7:30 PM on Monday.
