The congress is likely to finalize the party’s strategy for the upcoming winter session of parliament and the dates for the party’s plenary session at the first meeting of the steering committee headed by new party chief Mallikarjun Kharge on Dec. 4.

All members of the CWC joined the steering committee shortly after Kharge took charge as the new congressional president.
Kharge’s election as president of Congress will be confirmed at the party’s plenary session, likely to take place in March next year.
Kharge is the first non-Gandhi to be elected president of Congress after a 24-year gap, having defeated Shashi Tharoor in a head-to-head battle for the top post.
More than 9,000 AICC delegates were expected to attend the party’s plenary session.
