Local BJP MP Arun Kumar Sagar has been declared absconding here by a special MP/MLA court after failing to appear in a case related to the 2019 poll seizure.
Judge Asma Sultana declared him in hiding on 21 November.
During the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, the then SDM Sadar had confiscated BJP candidate Sagar’s campaign materials on the Bareilly-Jalalabad road and a case was registered.
Sagar did not appear in court despite several summonses after which a bail order was issued against him, Special Prosecutor Neelima Saxena told PTI on Wednesday.
The court said that the copy of the order should be pasted in the MP’s residence as well as in public places.
