Telangana Police foils bid to ‘buy’ party lawmakers from KCR; TRS, BJP Trade Charges as 3 caught in the act

Three people have been arrested in Telangana for allegedly attempting to seize four MLAs from the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi on Wednesday. This came after Cyberabad police, on a tip from lawmakers, raided a farm in Aziz Nagar on the outskirts of Hyderabad.

TRS MLAs Rega Kantha Rao, Guvvala Balaraju, Beeram Harshvardhan Reddy and Pilot Rohit Reddy had warned police that attempts were being made to trick them into switching allegiances, IANS reported.

Police have reportedly seized Rs 15 crore so far. Cyberabad Police Commissioner Stephen Ravindra said the deal could be worth Rs 100 crore.

Ravindra said the MLAs claimed that some BJP leaders were trying to trick them into leaving the TRS by offering prominent posts, contracts and huge amounts of cash.

The TRS claimed that the BJP is trying to trick its MLAs into defecting, adding that those detained by the police are close to BJP leaders.

TRS Social Media Convenor Y Sathish Reddy said BJP’s “three agents” came to bribe TRS MLAs.

Refuting the KCR party’s claim, BJP National Vice President DK Aruna called it a “drama”.

“Another drama played by KCR that is big in small politics is “buying four MLAs”. Did KCR give BJP membership to those in Terasa Nayak’s farm? Did Teresa throw a party? Yadadri Lakshminarasimhaswamy has the audacity to act as swear to witness if KCR has no part in this play?” she said.
