Lakshya Sen achieves career-best sixth in BWF rankings | Badminton news

NEW DELHI: Commonwealth Games Champion Lakshya Seno jumped two places on Tuesday to take a career-best sixth in the final BWF World ranking.
The 21-year-old from Almora, who has been in sensational form this season, has 76,424 points from 25 tournaments.
Newly crowned French Open champions Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty also climbed one spot to return to their best seven rankings in men’s doubles.
The Indian duo won two BWF world tour titles – India Open super 500 and French Open super 750, won gold at the Birmingham Games and won bronze at World Championships for the first time. They also played a vital role in winning the Thomas Cup in India.
Women’s doubles Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand and mixed doubles Ishaan Bhatnagar and Tanisha Crasto also rose to reach their career-high rankings of 23 and 28 respectively.
While Treesa and Gayatri jumped five places, Tanisha and Ishaan improved two places in the final chart.
Double Olympic medalist PV Sindhuwho has not played a tournament since the Birmingham Games due to an ankle injury, also moved up a place to become number five in the world.
Kidambi Srikanth and HS Prannoy remained at number 11 and 12 in the world respectively.
