SHOCKING! The fascinating Google Street View app that needs to be killed

This latest report suggests that the fascinating Google Street View app will be killed.

Did you like that panoramic view of streets worldwide on Google Maps and Google Earth? Unfortunately, you’re going to miss this feature soon! Launched in 2007, the Google Street View app allows users to explore the world with 360-degree photos and videos of specific locations around the globe. But according to a recent report from 9to5Google, Google will shut down the Street View app on March 21, 2023 to encourage users to use Google Maps or Street View Studio.

The report further reveals that the most recent update to the Google Street View app, version, is available on the Google Play Store. “When we decompile these files (called APKs, in the case of Android apps), we can see several lines of code within that hint at possible future features. Keep in mind that Google may or may not ship these features, and our interpretation of what they are may be imperfect,” the report says on the app’s APK Insight.

However, this latest version is said to be missing many features. The 9to5Google report says that Google has organized several shutdown notices for the Street View app, which are not yet visible in the app. However, there is one feature that is disappearing from the Street View app and that is photo trails, the report confirms. The Photo Paths feature was introduced with the aim of allowing anyone to contribute with their smartphone to easily upload 2D photos of streets or paths that have never been uploaded before.

The report also shows some glimpses of the Street View app, suggesting that “If you want to publish your own 360-degree video, you should switch to Street View Studio. Use Google Maps to view Street View and add Photo Spheres.” add.” That means you’ll miss your favorite Street View app after March 21, 2023.
