In a speech uploaded to YouTube in 2015, Barnette argued strongly that it was okay to discriminate against Muslims and compared Islam’s rejection to “… rejecting Hitler’s or Stalin’s worldview.” In comments on his radio show, he said that accepting homosexuality would lead to acceptance of incest and pedophilia. One post he wrote called a transgender person “deformed” and “demonic”.
Barnette has risen in recent polls in the upcoming Pennsylvania Republican Senate Senate primary, putting her in a deadlock between former TV star-backed Donald Trump Mehmet Oz and former hedge fund manager David McCormick . The Pennsylvania Senate seat is one of the best gathering opportunities for Democrats this November, and Barnette’s sharp and rapid rise is causing concern among Trump’s allies.
Barnette had rapid and unpredictable growth in polls ahead of next Tuesday’s primary. She is best known as a veteran of the Army Reserves and a conservative political commentator who regularly appeared on Fox, and was previously the host of a Christian radio show called “Truth Exchange,” which also had a website where sometimes he blogged. He previously ran for Congress in 2020 in the 4th Congressional District of Pennsylvania, but lost to Rep. Democrat Madeleine Dean.
Barnette’s campaign did not respond to CNN’s request for comment.
Anti-gay comments
In the posts, and comments on her radio show, Barnette has often been condemned for being gay and transgender.
“Two men sleeping together, two men holding hands, two men caressing each other is not normal,” he said on his radio show in July 2015, when a Supreme Court ruling cleared the way for same-sex marriage.
In the same show, Barnette argued that acceptance of same-sex marriage leads to a “slippery slope” to accepting incest and pedophilia, in an episode that was removed from her SoundCloud page after KFile CNN has reached out to Barnette’s campaign for comment.
“If love is litmus test, which is to say, well, your love is legitimate love, same-sex couples, but your love, father and daughter, is not legitimate. Or your love, one man and three women, it’s not legitimate, or an older man and a 12-year-old boy. If love is litmus test, it becomes a very slippery slope. And that’s where we are today. ”
In a 2015 post, Barnette attacked former transgender reality star and Olympic champion Caitlyn Jenner as “deformed” and “demonic,” while attacking what she called a “barrage to normalize sexual perversion.” In comments to the same post, Barnette warned of a “takeover” that is taking place from the “homosexual agenda.”
On another show from the same time, Barnette welcomed “two ex-gays” to show “the true story behind all those happy” gay “photos we see, and the redemptive story of God in their lives.” A conversation introduced the president of “Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays & Gays (PFOX).” In a 2010 post, Barnette wrote the “Homosexual Agenda” seeking “domination.” In a post in 2013, Barnette said America could not coexist with the “homosexual agenda.”
“The aggressive gay agenda is soon coming to a kitchen table near you,” she wrote.
Anti-Muslim visions
In tweets and places, Barnette often targets Islam and Muslims. In a post on her website, Barnette shared an obviously doctoral image of a Muslim man holding a sign in front of the World Trade Center scrolls that read: “Vote Democrat! We need your help to kill .
Speaking in December 2015, in a speech published online, Barnette argued that it was acceptable to discriminate against Muslims and Islam, compared to the rejection of the worldviews of Stalin and Hitler, the leaders who systematically discriminated against and ordered the killing millions of people – including. Jews, people with disabilities, Slavs and gays.
“You are not racist if you reject Islam, or if you reject Muslims, because they are not a race of people. They are a particular view. In 2019, Barnette attacked Rep. Michigan Democrat Rashida Tlaib for comments she made about Trump, tweeting that she was a “Muslim” in all capital letters.
“Aren’t you so happy that you voted for the first ‘open’ Palestinian Muslim? (Sarcasm for you who have no sarcasm).” wrote Barnette.
Spread conspiracy theories Obama was a Muslim
Barnette too often shared the conspiracy theory that Obama, who is a Christian, was a Muslim. A tweet ridiculed Obama as a “Muslim or from another country.”
In her radio shows and speeches, Barnette often called Obama by his full name, Barack Hussein Obama, apparently to imply that he was a Muslim.
“We have a president in office now, Barack Hussein Obama,” he said in a 2015 speech. “I try to mention his name as much as possible. Thinking that at some point a light bulb will go out in someone’s head.”
“Don’t we? Obama is a Muslim!” read a tweet in January 2016.
“Obama is a Muslim. Do Muslims like THAT!” read a 2016 tweet. A tweet from 2015 he called it “Muslim Obama.”
