Calvin Klein’s advertising campaign about pregnant trans men is sparking debate on Twitter

Calvin Klein stood his ground and echoed a brand focused on inclusion

The new advertising campaign of the fashion brand Calvin Klein features a pregnant transgender. The campaign, published on Mother’s Day, sparked a debate on social media. The message “covered the realities of new families.”

Roberto Bette and Erica Fernandez were among those involved in the campaign. Roberto Beth is a transgender reality star from a woman to a man from Brazil.

The report mentions the pregnancy of Robert Bethe. And it also says that they are expecting the birth of Noah’s son “any day”. The caption read: “Today, by supporting women and mothers around the world, we shed light on the realities of new families … Erica Fernandez and Roberto Beth are expecting parents from Brazil. Roberto must give birth to him and Erica a son Noah every day. ”

The post also contains another image of a couple in bed where Roberto Bethe presses a baby cone. The text reads: “We can reproduce biologically or from the heart … Our place is to love and be loved.”

In a short time, the publication went viral on social networks. Several users praised the fashion brand for its inclusive messaging. The user said, “So beautiful.”

The man called Calvin Klein “such a great brand” and added a smiley heart.

“It’s so cool,” read one of the reactions.

However, many transphobic comments appeared on Twitter. Many threatened to boycott the brand and attacked the “wake-up campaign”. A user shared an image of the couple and said, “It’s time to dump you, Calvin Klein.”

The user attacked transphobic users and those who attacked the campaign, which “celebrates the diversity of families before Mother’s Day (USA).” It was tweeted: “This is not a new concept, nor is it a fanatical reaction.” The man added: “It is shocking that regressive conservatives have not moved out of place over the past 50+ years, since Saatchi & Saatchi launched a landmark advertisement for ‘pregnant men’ promoting contraception.”

Responding to the backlash, Calvin Klein stood his ground and echoed a brand focused on inclusion. The company said, “We accept this platform as an inclusive and respectful environment for individualism and self-expression. At Calvin Klein, we tolerate everything but intolerance – any intolerable comments will be deleted, and any accounts that release hateful statements may be blocked. “
