Research shows that eating during the day can benefit mental health | News

Researchers designed a study that simulated night work and then compared the effects of eating during the day and at night with eating alone during the day. The team found that among the participants in the daytime and evening eating group, depression-like mood increased by 26 percent and anxiety-like mood by 16 percent. Participants in the group that ate only during the day did not experience this increase, suggesting meal timing may influence mood fragility. Future studies are needed to determine whether changes in meal timing can help people experiencing depressive and anxiety/anxiety-related disorders.”
