Compact Google Pixel smartphone, ‘Neila’ in the works, says leakster

A recent tip from a leakster suggests that US tech giant Google is working on a compact Pixel smartphone codenamed ‘Neila’.

A recent tip from a leakster suggests that US tech giant Google is working on a compact Pixel smartphone codenamed ‘Neila’. According to GSM Arena, the tipster, Digital Chat Station, says the device could be the Pixel 7a, which is said to have a flat screen with a perforated selfie camera cutout and a rear viewfinder, just like on the Pixel 6 series of phones. .

No further details about the device have been shared, but there is speculation that it will eventually become the Pixel 7a.

Google is already on track to unveil the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro on October 6, along with its first-ever smartwatch — the Pixel Watch.

This means people will be able to see the Pixel 7a realistically sometime in Q3 2023. Apple recently announced its iPhone 14 series, which omits a mini model in favor of the larger 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Plus.

Meanwhile, developer Kuba Wojciechowski previously saw references to a “Pro” tablet, called “t6pro” or “tangorpro,” in code screenshots shared by him in a Twitter thread.

At I/O in May, Google confirmed that it is working on an Android tablet, and developers have discovered that “t6” and “tangor” refer to the device.

However, now that the ‘pro’ name is linked to these code names, it may indicate that Google is also working on a more expensive version of the tablet, according to The Verge.
