The government of Jammu and Kashmir has moved pediatric services from GB Pant Hospital in Sonwar to the newly built 500-bed children’s hospital in Bemina town in Srinagar. The intention of the government was to provide quality treatment with all kinds of facilities including X-ray, ultrasound, electrocardiogram (ECG), echocardiography test (ECO testing) and other things. All types of doctors including physicians, ophthalmologists, cardiologists, gastronomes, and pathologists are also available to humans. The new children’s hospital has a good infrastructure in the form of Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), high-tech diagnostic laboratory, Blood Bank, Ventilators and Immunization Center. After seventeen years, the pediatric services of the GB Pant hospital have shifted. Due to the limited bed capacity, both the administration and the people had many problems. Therefore, in the interest of the people and to provide quality health care to children, the government has spent millions of rupees and completed 500 beds at the right time.
