It’s a happy Friday for Ayushmann Khurrana. His long-awaited movieDoctor G, directed by Anubhuti Kashyap, opens to theaters today. The actor plays Dr Uday Gupta aka Doctor G in the film, who shows that after a lot of struggle he finally finds his place as a gynecologist. It also stars Rakul Preet Singh in the lead role. Shefali Shah is also part of the project. The campus comedy drama is supported by Junglee Pictures. Doctor G is just another addition to the long list of doctor-focused movies, featuring Sanjay Dutt’s Munna Bhai MBBS under the top. We also loved Shah Rukh Khan as Dr Jehangir Khan in Dear Zindagi, who taught us many valuable life lessons. It’s hard not to talk about doctors on screen and not mention Shahid Kapoor as Kabir Rajdheer Singh or Vijay as Dr V. Maaran, one of his triple roles in the film Mersal.

1. Munna Bhai MBBS – Amazon Prime video
Who would have thought that Murliprasad Sharma aka Munna Bhai (Sanjay Dutt) and Sarkeshwar Sharma aka Circuit (Arshad Warsi) would become such iconic characters? Their camaraderie made it a cult classic. A Brief Summary – Munna is a gangster with a heart of gold who decides to fulfill his father’s dream of becoming a doctor.
2. Dear Zindagi – Netflix
Shah Rukh Khan once again mesmerized audiences with his charm in Gauri Shinde’s Dear Zindagi. He plays the role of a psychologist who helps Kaira (played by Alia Bhatt) realize that life is incomplete without problems and how to deal with them.
3. Kabir Singh – Netflix
A Hindi Remake of Vijay Deverakonda’s Arjun ReddyIn this romantic drama, Shahid Kapoor plays a surgeon who is anything but your usual doctor. His life spirals into self-destruction after his girlfriend (Kiara Advani) marries someone else.
4- Mersal – Disney+ Hotstar
MersalDirected by Atlee, Vijay plays a triple role – a village chief and his two sons. One of his roles is that of Doctor Dr. V Maaran, who charges his patients only Rs 5 for each treatment because he wants everyone to have the best medical facilities regardless of their class.
5- Anand- Amazon Prime video
Amitabh Bachchan, who recently celebrated his 80th birthday, stars as Dr Bhaskar K. Bannerjee in this classic directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. His bleak life takes a new turn when he starts treating Anand (Rajesh Khanna), who affectionately calls him Babu Moshai, for an incurable illness. The film is still regarded by many cinephiles as a masterpiece.
