Himachal Pradesh will go to the polls on Nov. 12 and the vote counting will take place on Dec. 8, the polling station said Friday.

The Aam Aadmi party said on Friday that it is ready for the elections in Himachal Pradesh and is fully confident that they will gain the mandate of the people after the Election Commission announced the schedule of the election elections in the hill state. Himachal Pradesh will go to the polls on Nov. 12 and the vote counting will take place on Dec. 8, the polling station said Friday.

“We are ready for the election,” AAP leader Durgesh Pathak said at a news conference when asked about his party’s response to the announcement. He said party-formed teams in every village of Himachal Pradesh have “worked hard” to reach the masses and get the AAP’s message to voters.

Pathak is an MLA of Rajinder Nagar in Delhi and a member of the AAP Committee on Political Affairs, the highest decision-making body of the Arvind Kejriwal-led party. “I have every confidence that the people of Himachal Pradesh, such as Congress and BJP looted the state during their respective reins, will definitely give AAP a chance this time, after looking at the work done by the Kejriwal government in Delhi,” Pathak said. said.

The same “great work” is now being done by the AAP government in Punjab headed by Prime Minister Bhagwant Mann, he added. Politics in Himachal Pradesh has so far remained bipolar, with Congress and the BJP remaining the main contenders for the throne.

The hill state, currently ruled by the BJP, will witness a triangular battle this time around, with the Kejriwal-led AAP joining the fray, building on its stunning victory in the Punjab elections earlier this year. The AAP is gearing up to contest all seats in the election polls. Himachal Pradesh has an assembly of 68 members and the BJP won a clear majority by winning 44 seats in the 2017 elections. Congress won 21 seats, Independents took two seats and the CPI(M) came out victorious on one seat. According to the Election Commission, more than 55 lakh voters are eligible to vote in the upcoming elections in the hill state.
