Responding to Home Affairs Minister Amit Shah’s comments on Article 370 and Jawaharlal Nehruí, Congress leader Manish Tewari said on Oct. 13 in Delhi that Congress did not implement Article 370, but that it was the Constituent Assembly of India that enacted Article 370. Jammu and Kashmir implemented. Jammu and Kashmir have always been and always will be an integral part of India. Article 370 was not implemented by Congress in Jammu and Kashmir. The Constituent Assembly of India, which also included Syama Prasad Mukherjee, implemented Article 370 there,” the congress leader said. Whatever happened in Rajya Sabha and then Lok Sabha on August 5-6 in 2019 (of the passing of the bill) is still under the knowledge of the Supreme Court. The case will be heard on October 31. That to say, the whole thing has been done before the SC’s verdict, is irresponsible,” he added.
