Pittsburgh Steelers Star Receiver Chase Claypool Is Traded To The Chicago Bears

According to sources, the Pittsburgh Steelers will trade star-wide receiver Chase Claypool for the Chicago Bears in exchange for a second-round draft pick in 2023.

Claypool, himself a second-round pick of the Steelers in the 2020 NFL Draft, has had 32 receptions for 311 yards and one touchdown so far this season.

He has surpassed 850 receiving yards in each of his first two seasons in the NFL, while also scoring 10 receiving TDs in his rookie year in 2020.

The news was reported Tuesday before the 8 p.m. UK time trading deadline in the NFL.

Chicago had traded out defensive stars Robert Quinn (to the Philadelphia Eagles) and Roquan Smith (to the Baltimore Ravens) before Tuesday’s deadline, but the addition of Claypool gives their sophomore quarterback Justin Fields a much-needed offensive weapon.

The Bears are 3-5 through the first eight games of the 2022 season, while the Steelers are 2-6.
