Nitish Kumar visited Nagaland’s main commercial city of Dimapur last month and paid tribute to socialist leader Jayaprakash Narayan on his 120th birthday

Bihar’s chief minister Nitish Kumar, who is leading the way in forming an anti-BJP alliance ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, is likely to visit Assam next month, opposition party leaders said on Thursday.

A senior congressional leader and All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) president Badaruddin Ajmal separately said Nitish Kumar, the head of Janata Dal-United, is expected to meet several senior leaders from non-BJP parties in Guwahati.

“The Congress and Trinamool Congress would be part of the anti-BJP alliance led by Nitish Kumar,” Ajmal, also a member of Lok Sabha, told media, adding that his party is also joining the front. would join.

Ajmal previously said he has no problem with Congress joining the alliance to beat the BJP in the 2024 polls.

Nitish Kumar last month visited Nagaland’s main commercial city, Dimapur, and paid tribute to noted freedom fighter and socialist leader Jayaprakash Narayan on his 120th birthday. He had criticized the BJP for the delay in implementing the framework agreement signed between the Narendra Modi-led central government and the NSCN-IM on August 3, 2015, to end the decades-old political imbroglio of Naga .
