Congress will launch a state-wide padayatra in Bihar in the vein of “Bharat Jodo Yatra” from Dec. 28, senior party leader Jairam Ramesh said here.

He said the 1200 km march against the “Common Agenda of the BJP” will start in Banka district and end in Bodh Gaya. It will cover 17 districts of the state.

However, Rahul Gandhi is unlikely to participate in the state-wide padayatra in Bihar.

“The Bharat Jodo Yatra has upset the BJP, which has resorted to cheap and childish diversionary tactics. The top rung of the saffron party, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is concerned about Rahul Gandhi’s padayatra,” Ramesh said at a press conference on Sunday with party colleague Digvijaya Singh by his side.

Singh said all senior congressional leaders, ministers and lawmakers in Bihar will participate in the state-wide padayatra.

Rahul Gandhi launched the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ in Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu on September 7th. It will travel approximately 3,500 km across 12 states in 150 days.
