CM KCR announced that the upcoming elections would be a war between the TRS and the BJP

TRS supremo and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said on Tuesday that there will be no early polls before the state assembly.

At a meeting with ministers, MLAs and party members in Hyderabad, he called on leaders to prepare for the next election, similar to the recent Munugode poll. Elections for the state assembly are likely to be held within a year.

Rao announced that the upcoming elections would be a war between the TRS and the BJP. He also warned of “Operation Lotus”, a term used by opposition parties who allege that the BJP has tried to take away leaders from the ruling party in an attempt to destabilize the government.

He urged party MLAs not to fall into the “Operation Lotus” trap and advised them to follow in the footsteps of four MLAs who foiled the alleged attempt by “intermediaries on behalf of the BJP leaders” with a bid of Rs 100 crore, plum mails and civil contracts from the central government once they joined the saffron brigade. The TRS chief also revealed that senior BJP leaders tried to lure his daughter, MLC K Kavitha, to join the saffron party.

He assured incumbent MLAs that they will be given party tickets in the next election after an assessment of their performance over the next ten months. He also hinted that leaders who work hard at the Assembly constituency level will get tickets to the upcoming election.

The prime minister said most of the studies carried out by the party have found a favorable climate for the party in the next election. He also said that the nomination of responsible persons at various levels within the party will be made shortly in view of the subsequent elections.
