Drive over probable location for overnight accommodation of Bharat Jodo Yatra participants in Indore

Controversy has erupted in Madhya Pradesh over one of the proposed options of the Bharat Jodo Yatra night retreat, led by Congressman Rahul Gandhi, when it enters Indore later this month.

The venue in the middle of the row is the Khalsa Stadium in the city of Indore.

The presence of Madhya Pradesh Congress Chief Kamal Nath at a Sikh function on Guru Nanak Jayanti (November 8) at Khalsa Stadium had sparked a controversy with Ragi Manpreet Singh Kanpuri lashing out at the organizers for inviting him .

A group of people from the Sikh community, led by a local BJP leader, later “sanitized” the site with holy water.

Vinay Bakliwal, president of the city congress of Indore, said on Tuesday that the cross-country foot march led by Gandhi will arrive here on November 27 or 28 and the yatris will stop overnight.

The places being considered as yatris lodging options include Khalsa stadium next to Vaishnav stadium and Chimanbagh sports ground, he said.

Bakliwal said Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Party General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi may participate in the yatra in or around Indore.

When asked about the accommodation of the participants at the Khalsa stadium, Congressman Rajya Sabha and head of the organizing committee of the yatra, Digvijaya Singh, said, “It is not me or my party who decides the route of the journey and the resting place. This work is done by Rahul Gandhi’s security team, which also includes the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). flags.

After the Guru Nanak Jayanti controversy, Nath should stay away from Khalsa stadium, he said.

Charanjit Singh, president of the Khalsa Education Society, which manages the stadium, claimed that the Congress has so far not engaged in “official correspondence” with the association to allow yatris to stay overnight at the complex.

The Delhi High Court had asked an SIT in January to submit a status report on a plea to take action against Nath for his alleged role in a case related to the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. The former Prime Minister has allegations against him in connection with the case have been dismissed.
