7 times lucky? With 30 Top Leaders in 70 Locations in One Day, BJP Plans Blitzkrieg to Win Gujarat

For the Bharatiya Janata Party, the Gujarat contest is not about beating the opposition, but about breaking its own record of 127 seats. To achieve this feat and win an election for the seventh time in a row, the party has planned a blitzkrieg campaign by its Union ministers and top state leaders, including some prime ministers, sources said.

The bombing of the political carpet in the state will occur on November 18, a day after the withdrawal of nominations for the first phase of the elections closes.

According to the sources, about 30 top party leaders will campaign simultaneously in Gujarat, in 70 foreign places, just like in the 2017 parliamentary elections when the 30 top leaders, including Union ministers and prime ministers, came to the state together in different constituencies. on the same date.

The leaders and the meetings

While Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will visit the meeting seats of Vankaner, Jhagadia and Choryasi and address the gathering, Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar will be in Dasada, Bhavnagar. Nitin Gadkari will visit Jamnagar Rural, Bharuch and Olpad assembly segments. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will address a ‘jansabha’ in Morbi, Gandhidham and Mandvi in Kutch. National party chairman JP Nadda will start the campaign from Navsari and Rajkot.

Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur will address the rallies and meet voters in Mangrol, Bardoli, Dediapada and Mandavi assemblies.

Many in the party believe that Congress, as the opposition, has yet to show its fierce competitiveness to make the election interesting, while the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) eats up Congress’ vote share.

‘Impactful’ campaign

Sources in the party added that the top leadership in the state believes in assuring voters that not only the state ministers but also the central leadership understands the importance of preserving Gujarat.

“Gujarat is the home state of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. It is the Gujarat model of governance, of development, that is being replicated in the country. The young generation of the state has not seen a curfew in so many years of our administration. There is peace and development. While Prime Minister now runs the country, he makes Gujarat feel that it is still under Prime Minister Modi’s care. Therefore, the top leadership of the party will participate and kick off the election campaign with a bang,” the source added.
