2022 belongs to Karthia. The actor had three releases in three months, and all of the films have hit moolah at the box office, the last being Sardar. One of the two major Tamil releases of Diwali (the other being Sivakarthikeyan’s Prince), Sardar is all set to hit the Rs 50 crore mark at the box office. According to trade analysts, the film will hit the milestone today or tomorrow as it draws a lot of visitors in theaters across Tamil Nadu.
The management of PS Mithran is also raking in money in Telugu states, where Karthi has a significant market. In the past four days, the film has hit Rs 17 crore in Telugu states and about Rs 7 crore in Kerala.

On the other side, the prince of Sivakarthikeyan runs after Sardar. On Day 4 at the box office, the film only managed to collect around Rs 20 crore (approximately), according to trackers. However, it still has quite a run with money coming in from foreign markets like the US.
Additionally, Sivakarthikeyan revealed in the pre-release media interaction that Prince has already broken with the sale of streaming and other rights to the film.
Prince’s experimental humor doesn’t get a unanimously positive response from fans. Kirubhakar Purushothaman of Indianexpress.com gave the film a 2.5 star rating and wrote in his review, “When the film ended with the ending card ‘Subam’, an outdated practice in Tamil cinema, I realized that I Prince won’t remember long time But that doesn’t seem to be the point. The point is to make you laugh for those few pieces, and maybe it’s a win…
