Daniil Medvedev and Stefanos Tsitsipas have booked their place in the second round of the ATP tournament in Vienna
Top class Daniil Medvedev entered the second round of the ATP tournament in Vienna on Wednesday with a victory over Nikoloz Basilashvili.
The Russian won 6-2, 6-2 to arrange a meeting with former US Open champion Dominic Thiem, who saved two match points in a dramatic win over American Tommy Paul on Tuesday.
Medvedev, the world number four, broke twice in each set and didn’t even break a point as he won in just an hour.
Second seed Stefanos Tsitsipas defeated home hope Dennis Novak 7-6 (7/2), 6-2 in his opening game.
The Greek star then takes on Borna Coric in a rematch of the Cincinnati Masters final, which was won by the Croat in September.
