The Indian Embassy in Kiev has issued a new advisory for all Indian citizens in Ukraine. The government has asked its citizens to leave the country immediately because of the escalating hostilities. Some Indian nationals had left Ukraine on the basis of the earlier advice. The embassy has also issued contact numbers for assistance if needed to travel to the border. It had issued an advisory requesting Indians to leave Ukraine due to the deteriorating security situation. The war between Russia and Ukraine escalated after a truck exploded on the Crimean road bridge. The Crimean Bridge was opened in 2018 by Russian President Vladimir Putin. It was opened four years after Moscow annexed Crimea. It was designed to connect the peninsula to the Russian transportation network.
