Delhi minister Satyendar Jain, who has been embroiled in controversies over leaked CCTV footage of him receiving massages and meals out, has withdrawn a plea he made to stop the media from broadcasting the leaked footage.
Jain’s counsel said they will move the Supreme Court, seeking this demand.
AAP leader Satyendar Jain, who was in Tihar jail on a money laundering charge, urged a court on Wednesday to stop the media from showing video footage from his jail cell. Special Judge Vikas Dhull has notified Tihar Prison authorities of Jain’s plea and ordered prison officials to submit their response by Thursday when the court will hear the case.
Jain told the court that despite Tuesday’s hearing on the leaking of videos of him from jail, another clip was leaked Wednesday morning.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had confirmed in court on Tuesday that it played no role in the leaking of Jain’s videos, including the video of him receiving massages from a fellow inmate, accused of rape, in his prison cell.
Days after his massage CCTV footage was all over the place, new videos surfaced on Wednesday of the imprisoned pastor, where he was seen eating uncooked fruits and vegetables in his Tihar prison cell.
The videos surfaced just days after he moved to court as he claimed he is not fed raw food in accordance with his religious beliefs.
Jain is accused of laundering money through four companies allegedly associated with him.
