Champions League: Borussia Dortmund draw 0-0 with Manchester City to join them in knockout stage | Football news

DORTMUND: Borussia Dortmund drew 0-0 against already qualified Manchester City on Tuesday for their place in the Champions League knockout stage with one match remaining.
The result saw City, with 11 points, top of Group G, while Dortmund, at eight, secured the second qualifying ticket and secured second place for third-placed Sevilla, who have five points.
The Germans were the better side with City failing to get a shot on target in the first half and top striker Erling Halaland, who had scored 86 goals in 89 appearances for Dortmund until his departure in the summer, was eliminated at half time .
The visitors lost their best chance 58 minutes into the game when a penalty from Riyad Mahrez was saved by Dortmund’s Gregor Kobel. It was the Algerian’s second missed goal in consecutive matches in the competition.
Sevilla, third on five points, continues in the Europa League after a 3-0 win over 10-man FC Copenhagen.
