Nothing Phone 1 is reportedly available in the US, but only as part of a “beta membership”. Customers in the United States can purchase the “Nothing OS 1.5 Beta Membership” which will allow them to test the Nothing Phone 1 running Android 13 in the country. Participating in the program costs $299 (approximately Rs. 24,400) and includes a black version of the Nothing Phone 1 with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of onboard storage.

The phone was not officially sold in the European and Asian markets until it was released by Nothing last year. This isn’t an official launch in the US though, and it’s not just because the devices are being made available to test Nothing’s beta Android 13 software. The company’s website warns that the phone “may not work with all US carriers,” so it doesn’t sound like you can rely on it for everyday use. T-Mobile is the only carrier to support 5G on this device, while AT&T and Verizon users can only access 4G connectivity. There’s nothing to indicate that Verizon’s coverage will be “very limited.”

The beta membership is valid until the end of June, but it’s unclear if that means nothing will introduce a formal US version of the Phone 1 at that point, or if this is just a chance for enthusiasts to get their hands on the smartphone and provide feedback on update the Android 13.

“Phone 1 wasn’t originally released in the US, but it’s going to be an important market for us. By giving our American public access to the Nothing Beta Membershipwe can get to know them better and take their input with us,” explains Nothing.

The Nothing Phone 1 devices do not need to be returned once the beta period has ended. The device is expected to ship and arrive within five to seven days. However, beta testers in the US don’t have access to the company’s support or warranty if something goes wrong with the handset.

Nothing CEO Carl Pei Previously mentioned in an interview with CNBC that the company is “in talks with some carriers in the US to potentially launch a future product there.” He explained that the company didn’t initially launch the phone in the US because of the “additional technical support” needed to accommodate the country’s different networks, as well as the “unique customizations that [carriers] “It is certainly a market where there is already a lot of interest in our products,” he added. “And if we launch our smartphones there, I’m sure we can achieve significant growth.”
