The PS5’s DualSense Edge wireless controllers are available for pre-order in India. The “highly customizable” PlayStation gamepads are gearing up for a global launch on January 26, 2023, arriving in India on the same date. Pre-orders are now live from Amazon India, e2z Store, GamesTheShop and Sony Center, for Rs. 18,990. It seems that Sony is not offering regional pricing for its latest product as it costs $199.99 (approximately Rs. 16,300) in the US. International pre-orders went up on October 25, almost a month before India got their chance.
The PS5 DualSense Edge is essentially Sony’s (very belated) answer to Xbox’s Elite series of controllers. This is the company’s first take on customizable controllers, as players previously had to rely on third-party storefronts such as Scuf gaming for similar functions. And while those have proven their hardware prowess, PlayStation raises the bar with software options to build a personalized gaming experience. Key features include button remapping, swappable stick caps, and unique profile settings, which can be switched depending on the game.
Following the pre-order period, Sony has stated that the DualSense Edge controllers will be available from February 23, 2023 at participating retailers. Please note that this date has been assigned considering the international customer base, and India sales dates may differ. October Playstation confirmed a replaceable stick module, priced at $19.99 (roughly Rs. 1,700), available for pre-order, though it’s nowhere to be found on the aforementioned Indian digital storefronts.
PS5’s DualSense Edge controller comes in a white carrying case, which includes a port for USB-C charging. Then there are three pairs of interchangeable thumbstick caps and two pairs of back buttons – the latter giving an extra edge, as it can be configured for additional inputs. Similar to side buttons on a gaming mouse. Analog stick caps are divided into standard, high dome, and low dome categories and can be replaced to suit your finger alignment with ease.
The PS5 DualSense Edge controller releases January 26, 2023, with pre-orders live now Amazon India, e2z store, GamesTheShopand Sony center.
