Uttar Pradesh, deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, said on Sept. 19 that the Samajwadi party’s protest against the state government will not benefit ordinary people. “The protest of the Samajwadi Party has nothing to do with the welfare of the common people. If they want to discuss this, they are free to do so in the Assembly. Our government is ready for discussions. The Samajwadi Party has nothing to do. Such protests will only cause problems for people,” he said.
