Sep 21, 2022, 16:18 ISTSource: ANI

With two-day gains, Indian stocks traded slightly lower on Wednesday morning, but with a positive bias, as investors wait for the actual rate hike by the US Federal Reserve, if at all, for new signals. A two-day monetary policy meeting of the US central bank began on Tuesday, and the outcome will be announced late in the evening today. At 9:21 AM, Sensex was trading at 59,705.32 points, down just 14.42 points, or 0.024 percent, while Nifty traded at 17,812.85 points, down 3.40 points, or 0.019 percent. Among the Nifty 50 companies, 31 had advanced and 19 were down at the time of writing this report, according to data from the National Stock Exchange. This morning, other Asian markets also traded negatively as investors awaited the outcome of the US Fed. US consumer inflation fell marginally to 8.3 percent in August from 8.5 percent in July, but is well above the 2 percent target. Several top senior bankers recently said another rate hike is imminent.
