Jhingan, Chinglensana miss flight to Vietnam due to travel document problems | Football news

KOLKATA: The Indian Football Team’s Defensive Pair Sandesh Jhingan and Chinglensana Singh missed the flight to Vietnam where two international friendlies are scheduled due to problems with travel documents.
Jhingan and Chinglensana were left out of the 23-man Indian squad including: Sunil Chhetricwho left Kolkata for Vietnam on Tuesday evening together with head coach Igor Stimac and other support staff.
“Jhingan and Chinglensana had some problems with their travel documents and the immigration officials did not allow them to board the flight to Vietnam,” a source who was aware of the development told PTI on condition of anonymity.
“Efforts are underway to ensure that the two players board a flight to Vietnam again on Thursday.”
India will face Singapore in Ho Chi Minh City on September 24, before taking on host Vietnam three days later.
The two matches will be the first of the Indian team after reaching the 2023 AFC Asian Cup Final with convincing wins in qualifying in June.
