Laver Cup match halted after protester sets arm on fire in court | tennis news

A man ran to court in London O2 Arena and set fire to his arm on Friday to protest the use of private jets in Britain, saying the Laver Cup meeting between Stefanos Tsitsipas and Diego Schwartzman.
Security personnel acted quickly to drag the man off the field before play resumed after a quick check of the surface that was undamaged during the bizarre incident.
British media reported that the protester was a member of the End of UK Private Jets groupwho claims that “carbon emissions by 2022 are genocide”.
Tsitsipas then won the match 6-2 6-1 to give Team Europe a 2-0 lead over the rest of the world in the competition after Casper Ruud previously defeated Jack Sock 6-4 5-7 10-7.
Swiss great Roger Federer will go to court later in the day for the final game of his career, which will see the 41-year-old face off against American duo Sock and Frances Tiafoe alongside great rival Rafa Nadal.
