Cyber fraudsters have attempted to defraud people by using fake social media IDs on behalf of DM and SSP in Haridwar, Uttrakhand. A police investigation is underway. Three people have been arrested in the case so far. SP City Swatantra Kumar Singh said, “We were given information about such incidents. We have also made people aware of it. A case was registered under the appropriate sections and presented to the court. As soon as the case came to light, three people were arrested after they demanded money by acting as SP Traffic. The phone number they called has been taken out of service. Further investigation is underway. We took action before we cheated.”
