“The BMC had itself accepted Latke’s resignation on Thursday, immediately after the Supreme Court’s instruction, but it picked up the letter of acceptance this morning,” an official said. Later in the day, Latke will submit her nomination as Thackeray faction’s candidate for the Andheri East Assembly bypoll, which was necessitated by the death of her husband and serving on MLA Ramesh Latke earlier this year.
