BSP chief Mayawati on Wednesday accused the BJP and RSS of defrauding Pasmanda Muslims after they organized a sammelan for community members.
Mayawati said the BJP and RSS concern for Pasmanda Muslims is now a “new hoax” as their view of the community is well known.
In a tweet in Hindi, she said: “The concern of the BJP and RSS towards the Pasmanda Muslim community is a new deception. Their thinking, intention and view of the community are not hidden from anyone.” The BJP last week organized a Labharthi Sammelan attended by Pasmanda Muslims ahead of the by-elections for the Assembly constituency in Rampur.
“The result of the BJP’s negative view of the Muslim community is that even under their government they are still as poor, backward and distressed as they were under Congress rule,” Mayawati said in another tweet.
Senior BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Deputy Chief Minister Brijesh Pathak and State Minister Baldev Singh Aulakh along with Danish Minority Welfare Minister Azad Ansari addressed the rally at Gandhi Stadium in Rampur.
The BJP has plans to hold more such rallies in Muslim-majority parts of the state in the coming days.
