Welcoming the central authorities and taking action against violators, Bhagel warned that action will be taken if people are harassed

Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has said strict action will be taken if the state police receives a complaint about central agencies targeting anyone unnecessarily. There is no reason to fear the Enforcement Department, the Department of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) or the Income Tax Departments, Baghel said Monday night at a meeting in Durg district.

“If you are unnecessarily attacked, I assure you, as the head of the government of Chhattisgarh, that if you make a complaint to a state police station against the officers involved (of the central authorities), strict action will be taken, the said CM.

“We must fight for the truth. If someone does something wrong, he should be punished. The government cannot be run by creating fear,” he added.

Later, Baghel spoke to reporters about complaints about people being targeted by the DRI, IT department and ED in the state.

“..We welcome all central authorities. We are not against them. If something is wrong, action must be taken. But if people are harassed and if the police receive a complaint about it,[Central agency officials concerned]will be dealt with,” he said. Asked about the unrest within the ruling Congress in Rajasthan, Baghel said he didn’t know much and hoped the matter would be resolved soon.
